shibari speak

My tongue is twisted jute

every syllable tweaks me tighter.

It is why I am so awkward

suspended in slantwise stance.

When you doubt if I have

spoken or not the answer is yes.

There is cord and word and gravity

and the dark energy that tears us apart.

Shibari is a form of Japanese rope bondage. Jute is a vegetable fibre used to make a kind of rope for this practice.

Matter is made up of particles, has mass and occupies space; in the physical world, atoms. It makes up about 5% of the universe. According to the CERN laboratory, the dark matter of the universe ‘does not interact with the electromagnetic force’ of matter, ‘does not absorb, reflect or emit light,’ and, because it is invisible, is only detectable through the ‘gravitational effect it seems to have on visible matter.’ There are six times more dark matter than matter and it makes up about 27% of the universe. Dark energy makes up another 68% and no one knows what it is, other than a form of energy that does not have gravitational effects and ‘is distributed evenly’ throughout time and space. This means that it repels everything by repelling gravity and is believed to be responsible for the accelerating expansion of the universe on the whole.
